Review Of The Heir By Kiera Cass

Title: The Heir

Author: Kiera Cass

Number of Pages: 342

Series: Book #4 in the Selection Series

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.
But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.
Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.

The Heir is the 4th book in the Selection series and revolves around America Maxons daughter Eadlyn and I think I enjoyed this book a bit more then the rest of the books in the series.

Eadlyn is nothing like her mom which makes me very happy because America just never knew how to make a decision and was annoying at times. Eadlyn on the other hand actually knows what she wants which is that she doesn't want her own selection because she doesn't want to get married and wants to be independent, but she also she just doesn't want anybody in to really get to know her. In the beginning she was really bratty and spoiled “I was Eadlyn Schreave. No one was more powerful than me.”  But as the book goes on her character really grows  and changes.

I think that is because of the boys that take part in the selection. Some of these boys are insulting and just straight up rude and she learns how to deal with that, be strong and make some hard decisions.“When we met, you couldn’t stop staring at my breasts.” His face went pale, as if he seriously thought he was so subtle no one would notice. “Make sure you get an equally satisfactory look at my backside as you leave.” You really grow to love some of these boys throughout the book, “I never got to tell you so many things. Like how I wish I could command a room like you. It’s so impressive. Or how your eyes sparkle when you make a joke. It’s really pretty.” There are a few boys that they put the spotlight on but really anything could happen.

Along with the love and the romance. There's a lot of tension going on with the fear of a new rebellion even after the castes were eliminated so it does add a bit of suspense of what is going to happen next along with the cliffhanger that they have a the end.

All in all I enjoyed this book I'll give it a 4/5. I feel like if you read the rest of the selection series and contemplating if you should read the book, just give it a try.
