Review on Miss Mayhem By Rachel Hawkins

Title: Miss Mayhem

Author Rachel Hawkins

Number of Pages:273 pages

Series: Book #2 In the Rebel Belle series

Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and her best friend, Bee, has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can focus on the important things in life: school, canoodling with David (her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie), and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.

Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him. The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her . . . or make her more powerful than ever.

To be honest I did not enjoy this book as much as much as the first one. I felt like the story was just uneventful I mean except for the end (WHAT A CLIFFHANGER) but the rest of the plot just felt weak.

Although the plot was droopy I feel like the characters were as charming and quirky as they were in the first book. Ryan doesn't know what he's doing and at times it's actually hilarious, David's trying to figure out what's going on with his mind and sometimes makes harsh decisions but he's still the same David and Harper is still strong and kick butt as we like her to be. Even though this book is all about ancient fighters and mind readers I feel like it also includes some real issues like the relationship problems between Harper and David and just all the relationship drama which I liked about it, it gave a more realistic feel to it. I also feel like we could see more of Bee And Harper's friendship which were going threw problems and it also helped the book feel more real.

All in all it was pretty good book the plot was just being dragged and was weak but I will definitely pick up the last book because I NEED to know what happen in the end.

I would give this book a 3.5/5
